New Fanzine for September and October Now available --- 02.09.10


It's been a good few months since the last HV zine hit the shelves, so we're delighted to present the Sept/Oct issue. The mag is packed full of features of Everything Everything, who's debut LP is out now, as well as Sky Larkin, HV all-time faves !!!, Hurts, Gold Panda and Fenech Soler.

01.09 // Esben and the Witch Sign to Matador, Announce UK Tour Dates and EP

25.08 // Trentemoller to play Manchester in October, win tickets and his new album

Danish producer Andrers Trentmoller is revered around the world for his vibrant minimal-techno production, with the breakthrough LP The Last Resort released in 2006.

The follow up album The Great Wide Yonder is out now, and includes Trentmoller's trademark sound, combining noodling electronica with blissful melodies.

Eveybody's Stalking is a new Manchester indie label who specialise in unearthing lo-fi pop nuggets. Their latest release follows on from the debut 7" by Beads, which was reviewed here. It's on general release from 23rd August, though it's extremely limited.

Key tracks include LESANDS' synth led post-indie fuzz. Where basslines meet broken beats to form a hazy richness.

17.08 // Vampire Weekend Confirm New Dates and Support Acts


Vampire Weekend are one of the most talked about bands on the planet. After the success of their second album ‘Contra’, the New Yorkers are embarking on a special UK tour during November/December this year.

An extra date at the spectacular Alexandra Palace in London has now been added due to the previous night’s performance selling out in double quick time. Vampire Weekend have also announced that Ratatat will open for them on all their UK shows.

12.08 // Weezer announce new album on Epitaph


College radio-staple grungers Weezer are back with a new album, entitled Hurley, after the character from the TV series Lost. For this album, they’ve teamed up with US independent label Epitaph, longtime fans of the band. No UK dates outside of the Reading and Leeds Weekend have been announced yet, but the single ‘Memories’ is available to stream from their Myspace now. Hurley will be out on the 16th of September.

Clearing the difficult hurdle of establishing itself as one of Manchester’s heavyweight, here-to-stay club nights, the Warehouse Project this week announced a stunning series of lineups for the latter end of 2010.

The 14-week stretch of ridiculously impressive acts is in honour of WHP’s fifth birthday, with all events to be held in the space underneath Piccadilly Train Station.
